Take care of your Readers

We have put much love and effort into designing each pair of Readers and hope that you will take good care of them for many years to come. This page gives you a few good tips on how to best take care of your new reading glasses. If you have any additional questions, you are always welcome to contact us by phone or e-mail.

Use your Readers cloth

Greasy fingers on your lenses can easily be removed by polishing the lenses carefully with a cleaning cloth made of microfiber. A microfiber cleaning cloth works effectively without water because it absorbs all the grease. Never use paper towels, napkins or coarse cloths as it may scratch the lenses.

A Readers cleaning cloth is always included with your purchase at Readers Copenhagen. As an additional design feature, our Readers cleaning cloth is created as a small fabric pouch, which also functions as a case – a practical solution if you for example prefer to keep the reading glasses in your women’s purse or inside the pocket of a jacket.

Cleaning your Readers

If your Readers are very dirty with for example mascara, ice cream, food or other kind of grease, the best thing to do is to wash the reading glasses in lukewarm water with a drop of mild dishwashing detergent. Afterwards you can wipe the Readers with a clean, soft cotton tea towel and finish by polishing them with your Readers cloth.

Safe storage in your Readers case

Your Readers are made of lightweight tempered glass and can withstand most scratches and scuffs in everyday life. However, when you are not using your Readers, they should always be kept in a case for protection.

A Readers hard case and a soft fabric case, which also works as a cleaning cloth, are always included with your purchase at Readers Copenhagen.

Worth avoiding

Although it may be practical, you should avoid putting the reading glasses up in your hair. In the long run, it can affect the position of the frames and make them crooked.
